After the tragic death of 26-year-old Andrea Papi, foresters led by Claudio and Roberto set out to hunt bear JJ4, believed to be responsible. As fear of bears grows in the region, the dispute between animal rights activists and bear opponents escalates and thorny questions arise: should JJ4 be killed? And: to whom do the forest and nature belong?

Nowhere else in the world do bears and humans live in such close contact; set in the North Italian Alps, the documentary opens up essential questions about the coexistence of man and large predators.

"This excellent documentary shows how difficult it is to reconcile the need to protect humans with the free life of predators in the wild."
