I love to dive deep into characters and topics in order to make their often complex situations emotionally palpable for all of us. What interests me most are stories that are relevant. Stories that scream for change. Sometimes I just love to work on rhythm and visuals, celebrating the magic of the moving image.

My home base is in Bolzano (Bozen), a bilingual city in the far north of Italy. I studied, lived, and worked for many years in Bologna and Berlin.

Almost all of my films and projects are European co-productions. I therefore collaborate regularly with a trusted network of colleagues and partners across the continent — including Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Austria and beyond.

I write most of the films I direct. Most have been screened at major film festivals, several have received awards, and all have been broadcast on television and plattforms across Europe and internationally. A selection of my work can be found in the “Director” section.
